SARAWAK: ATTRACTIONS

Fyi, I had to write this attraction and food's entries separately. I'll tell you the reason why in my next entry ;)

Okay jom!

Day 1 (erm night to be exact) :

We went to Waterfront area nearby our hostel. There were some stalls like night market there, selling some souvenirs and bags like that. They have food stalls as well. Besides that, we just have a night-stroll because there's nothing much to do here. And we returned to our hostel around 10.

-End of first day lel-

Day 2 :

First, we went to Sarawak Cultural Village. It is one of the famous attractions in Sarawak. It took abt an hour from our hostel to reach here by car. I have no idea whether they got bus to here or not.

[TIPS]

  • if you are student, bring your beloved student card. The entrance fee will be WAY CHEAPER. RM 15. Compared to the original fees, RM 60++ if I'm not mistaken.
Here are some photos of us in SCV.

The interesting part in SCV is that you can see various ethnics lived in Sarawak and get to learn their culture. It was very fun and they got this ethnics' dance performances for us. I swear it was legit nice and we did enjoyed it!

You can also try their outfit/ traditional attires. But this one will cost you RM 10 per costume.

Next, right in front of this SCV, you can see the Damai Beach. It is just a walking distance from the SCV's entrance to the beach. All you need is to walk and pass through the carpark, then go straaaiiight until you see a bird (Kenyalang) statue and there you go. DAMAI BEACH :)

We were there at noon. So there's nothing fancy for us to watch. We just took some pictures there and went for lunch at the nearby food court. Oh this one is free.

After lunch, we decided to go for layer cake shopping!!!!! Hence we turned back to our hostel area (Kuching) and took a boat to there. I dont remember what was the shop's name. Sorry --'

But dont worry. Most of the layer cakes there are nice and DELICIOUS YUMMYLICIOUS :p

They'll give you the tester for the available flavors. FREE FOOD AT ITS BEST JYEAH !

The price range for the layer cake is from RM 10-RM 25. It depends on what flavor you prefer.

And that night, we had our dinner at Topspot Food Court. Seafood time.

There were hundreds of people eating at the place and it was very happening. Trust me.

Day 3 :

As we drained a lot of energy the day before, we ACCIDENTALLY woke up late. Hahaha

So our plan to watch the Orang Utan turned out not that well. We went there tho. And the guard said that the 'showtime' is over. They fed the animals already thus no more animals will be there for us to see. Too bad :'(

It is located in Semenggoh Nature Reserve and it is free.

The duration from Kuching city to Semenggoh consumed around an hour also.

You should check their feeding time before you go to make sure that you wont get upset like us tsk tsk

Therefore, we forced ourselves to go to Pitcher Plant Garden nearby Semenggoh area as well. Urm this place is not that highly recommended because for me, I found that the garden is not well-maintained in terms of the cleanliness and plants' condition. But if you feel like going, just give it a try. Maybe you'll like it.

RM 3 per person.

After being frustrated with ourselves (and the orang utan, pitcher thingy grr) we went back to hostel to pack our stuffs since it was our last day already.

We had lunch at Medan Niaga Satok. And layer cake shopping (again. well, girls' problem)

Then,

On our way to our second last destination, we saw this Kuching's signature cat statue. Thank God finally. We searched everywhere for this freaking cats yknow. But we couldnt manage to find 'em until that time :')

So proud of us *pat my shoulder*

And our second last stop was the Kampung Panchor Hot Spring. It was also an hour away from our hostel * yes they have long roads and super big roundabouts.

Okay this place is quite remote. Even my mobile data cant be connected as we were approaching the hot spring.

K it is RM 4 per person.

Please dont go there at the evening. It was really hot -.-
Morning is the optimum time to enjoy the mild-hot water.

(Our pretty Aisyah)

.... and there's me :p

We had our natural facial treatment here. We steamed our face and put a 'clay masker' on. You can take the mud there and use it as a mask. We even bring home some of the mud hahaha. It is allowed to do so. Dont worry ;)

We wished we could've stay longer here but we can't. Our flight is quite early so we need to reach there on time :/

These are the places that we enjoyed going to during our 2 days 2 nights in Sarawak. Give 'em a try if you get the chance to ya ?

Love,

Sya
