Lepat Beras
We ate this one at Sarawak Cultural
Village. It is kinda sticky and sweet. But the texture is somehow slightly
rough because it is made of grinned rice (or maybe glutenous rice idk
haha). The traditional dessert for the Sarawakian if I'm not mistaken.
Mi Kolok
THE NICEST FOOD EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EVERYONE HAVE TO TRY THIS. IT IS A MUST YALL!!
IT TASTES ........................................................PERFECT
Kuih Keretapi
This is so random. Like I dont plan to buy this and I dont even have any idea that this food existed. i am so grateful that I bought this because it is very nice. And sweet. It is a dessert and there is chocolate filling in it. OMG I miss this. I want moreeeeeee.
And it is cheap too. RM 3/piece
Nasi Ayam Penyet (Smashed Chicken with Rice)
Aisyah's lunch for our last day here.
The price is around RM 8. I'm pretty sure this one is delicious
Umai
OMG this one T_T
Hahaha this made Aisyah and me laughing like crazy while eating it.
It is actually raw fish with sliced onion and some lime squeeze. It is nice I think haha. But we couldnt manage to finish it.
The small set is RM 10.
ONLY BUY THIS IF YOU ARE SO DETERMINED TO TRY IT OR YOU ARE OKAY WITH RAW MEAT.
Ketam Masak Telur Masin (if I'm not mistaken)
Unfortunately, I dont eat seafood. Hehehe so sorry for not being able to describe this. Somehow I think it is gonna be nice if you like crab.
Siakap Masak Mango
This fish is not as I expected :(
I think Siakap Sweet Sour or Tiga Rasa are better. (for me) But still, the crunchiness and the freshness of the fish is super duper great. The price is quite expensive compared to others. It depends on the type of fish, mass and the way of cooking the fish. Ours is RM30.
Midin Masak Belacan
I dont how it tasted like. Because I dont really eat vege haha. However, this is one of the famous dishes in Sarawak and you should try. Even our roommates from Germany also like this.
Ais Kacang (Shaved Ice)
It is a nice one to quench your thirst on a hot sunny day. There are peanut, corn, some jelly where you can find them at the bottom part while on the ice, there will be syrup, condensed milk and if you go for the special one, a scoop of ice cream will be on top of it. Yumm! :p
Cantonese Mee
If you ever tried kuetiau kungfu, this one is kinda similar to that. The mee (read: noodle) is crispy and I thought it wont taste nice. But guys, trust me. It was SO GOOOOOD. Not too spicy but you have the chillis in that small plastic bowl that you can add on if you want it to be spicier. I asked for egg and chicken because I dont eat seafood. Yet if you want to try the seafood one, I bet it will be as nice as this one also. Maybe the price is just slightly higher compared to this.
The average price for;
- Shaved ice : RM 5-6
- Cantonese Mee : RM 6-8
Laksa Sarawak
This one tasted like curry noodle but with thinner noodle. Plus their laksa is not like the laksa in Peninsula, like what is mentioned, it is thinner. It has takua, tauge (beansprout), udang (shrimp) and ayam (chicken). Not that spicy and enjoyable at any time.
That's all for the food that we tried in Sarawak during our short 2 and a half day there.
*gosh I'm craving for mi kolok throughout writing this entry*
anyway, dont forget to share your favourite food from Sarawak at the comment box down below okay? xx
