SINGAPORE : TRANSPORT

DISCLAIMER:This entry is about how we got to Singapore, MRT lines and some tips for dummies, emergency hack and walk walk walk until you drop.

To Singapore : We rode on Nice Executive bus. This bus is highly recommended. The drivers and there is a kakak who help them were very good and professional. They handled the passengers very well and were very patient. The bus is super cozy and food is included (yeay!) We got mineral water and fried bihun.

Price: Approximately $20 ( sorry I dont remember the exact amount )
Pickup point : @ KL Sentral
Drop off point : The Plaza, Beach Rd

** Find the nearest MRT/bus station to your drop off point and your accommodation as well.

The seats

There is screen for everyone. But only certain movies are available.

At Singapore : Most of the time, we used MRT. The convenience and efficiency are at a very high level. Maps and signs are everywhere and they were very helpful. Plus, if you dont know which lane/ bus to take or where is the direction to your particular destination, you are welcomed to go and ask for help at the passenger service. They are there to serve you with super excellent service. The price is likely the same with our LRT's price but in $. Well.

They used Standard Ticket instead of token

Tips : // These MRT lines are quite confusing but once you knew it, it is very easy to deal with.

You can either get this map from google or at the station itself.

Okay, let say, you are at Farrer Park right now. ( Btw, this is the nearest MRT to Mori Hostel )
And you want to go to Bugis. Means that from purple line ( Farrer Park ) you have to go to blue/ green line ( Bugis ) So, from Farrer Park you stop at Little India which is the interchange station. Then from Little India, take the blue line to Bugis. Your platform should refer to the last station of the line you are heading to. In this case, your platform will be the Chinatown not Bukit Panjang.

If you are not sure, ask them.

EMERGENCY ALERT (!)

Problems can come at anytime regardless of what occasion you're having. Get lost in a foreign country is a disaster. There are two things you need to do before you go there.

  • install Grab apps in your phone
  • If you are travelling in group, make sure the one who got the apps in their phone has mobile data. He/she should do the roaming.

This is the solution just in case you are in trouble finding your way. *it happened to us before huhu* But the fare is quite high actually, so try not to get lost.

Then, from MRT to mall/mosque/bus station/hostel or anywhere we walked. YOU REALLY NEED A COMFORTABLE SHOES. Even we wore sport shoes, our legs were in pain at the end of the day. Plan your journey at least a day before. Because if you dont, and you dont have mobile data, it is pretty hard to find the way.

What we did was, we planned where to go. And we google the direction. Use the walking distance not for the car one.

You should screenshot the whole pathways. It will be way easier.

Lastly;

Going back to Malaysia : Through MRT, we went to Nicoll Highway and walk to the Golden Miles Complex which is the pick up point for our bus. We rode on Seasons Express bus. It is a couch bus but no food is included. We were dropped off at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS)

Price : $19

Done !

Love,

Sya
